OPEN CALL

Epavli Iliou are looking for a creative partner to help shape the identity of their new hospitality company currently being built.

This is not simply a search for someone to design a logo. They are looking for a creative mind who can work closely with the founder to translate the company's idea, positioning, and personality into a strong, coherent visual identity.

The collaboration may include developing the logo, brand identity, visual language, website direction, digital presence, and other visual applications as the company grows.

More importantly, they are looking for someone who can become a long-term creative collaborator involved in developing and finalising the company's visual identity, including:

  • Logo and logo system

  • Typography and colour direction

  • Brand identity and visual language

  • Art direction and overall look and feel

  • Digital applications

  • Physical brand applications

  • Brand guidelines and supporting assets

  • Future creative development of the brand

The exact scope would be developed in collaboration with the founder.

The process

Phase 01 — Portfolio Submission

Applicants are asked to submit examples of previous work and a short introduction to their creative practice. At this stage, you do not need to create original work specifically for this open call. Epavli Iliou will review submissions based on the applicant's previous work, creative approach, visual thinking and relevance to the project.A shortlist will then be invited to Phase 02.

Phase 02 — Creative Exercise

Shortlisted applicants will receive a creative brief and a moodboard prepared specifically for the project. They will be asked to develop an initial logo or identity concept in response to the brief. This stage is not about receiving a finished brand identity. It is an opportunity for them to understand how each creative interprets a brief, develops an idea and translates a concept into a visual direction.

Phase 03 — Finalists

Five creatives will be selected from Phase 02 to move forward to the final stage. The five finalists will be asked to further develop and present their proposed creative direction to the founder through an interview process. The final selection will be based on the overall creative approach, interpretation of the brief, originality, coherence, and potential for a long-term collaboration. One winner will be selected.

The Prize

The winner will receive a €1,000 prize. The €1,000 prize relates to the open-call selection process and the winning creative concept.

After the selection, the company may also offer the winner an opportunity to continue working with it long-term and/or an ownership interest in the company. Any such future collaboration or ownership arrangement would be subject to a separate agreement between the company and the winner. Participation in the open call does not itself create an employment relationship, partnership or entitlement to ownership in the company
