Descover: 2020
Descover: 2020 is our first constellation of texts. We have used the invisible thread of artistic collaboration to draw these pieces together. They are a diverse selection that transcends time as they span artistic movements, theories, cultures, modes and genres. Some take the form of interviews, others are analytical thought pieces, insights and how-tos. At one moment ‘it’s 1997 and Alys is pushing a block of ice down the streets of Mexico City’. Around the corner we find Ram Dass contemplating the ego as Vanessa Bell pips Suzanne Duchamp to the post in the fame race. But it is when we wrap these texts together that they appear at their brightest and best. Intended as conversation starters, they probe the possibilities of art, collaboration and experimentation within the creative industries. Together, they demonstrate the diversity, inclusivity and creativity that the art world should nurture.
