Rooted in collaboration and artistic freedom, Descoverartists offers art retreats on the Greek island of Chios. Here, artists can step away from the demands of everyday life and immerse themselves in an environment of beauty, intention, and creative possibility.
Our home, Eona, is set within the rich landscape of Chios, an island of medieval villages, citrus groves, and endless coastline. The land itself becomes part of the work, infusing each residency with its history, textures, and light. Artists are invited not only to draw from this place but also to give back, contributing to local restoration and initiatives that leave a lasting impact.
Every detail, from the curation of participants to the design of shared and private spaces, is considered to create an atmosphere where meaningful connections form, and where the work made feels both personally transformative and part of a larger artistic conversation.
This is more than a retreat. It’s a chapter devoted entirely to your art, a time you’ll carry with you long after you leave.
We welcome a select group of artists from across disciplines to live and work together in a shared rhythm, balancing time for individual practice with moments of exchange, dialogue, and spontaneous collaboration. This is not a space for competition, but for the generosity of ideas and the pursuit of artistic depth.
The residency is intentionally curated to bring together a dynamic, international community whose perspectives, mediums, and stories enrich the collective experience.
We don’t promise a rigid agenda. Instead, the days unfold in a natural rhythm, studio hours, quiet moments, afternoons in the village or by the sea, shared dinners under the stars. Some moments are structured: open studios, skill-sharing, and conversations that spark new ideas. Others are left for personal exploration, solitude, and rest.
